They should have provided the public with a simplified version. While I can understand and sympathise with a popular movement for more democracy & accountability in the EU, I have no sympathy whatsoever with outdated attitudes about "national sovereignty". One, nation states are a feudalist concept used by capitalists to whip up jingoistic fervour when they want us to kill each other and , two, there is no sovereignty anyway. All the power remains in the hands of those who we allow to rule us, the people have no power. So "national sovereignty" certainly doesn't apply to any power that the people might have. People continue to labour under a delusion of "national sovereignty" and nation states. In reality, neither exist outside of a cosmetic pretence.
